Carpool Chaos: The Woman the King Listened To 👑✨

There are some Bible stories that get the spotlight.

The ones we hear in Sunday school.

The ones with the coloring pages.

The ones everyone remembers.

🌸 Esther saved a nation.

🌾 Ruth showed incredible loyalty.

🤍 Mary carried the Savior.

And then there’s Huldah.

Who?

Exactly. 😊

If you blink while reading through the Old Testament, you might miss her completely.

She’s tucked into a few verses between kings, priests, and political chaos. No dramatic rescue scene. No famous speech. No book of the Bible named after her.

Just a woman faithfully listening to God.

And then one day, the king needed answers.

Not a small question.

Not a casual conversation.

The entire nation was facing a spiritual crisis.

And everyone knew where to go.

Not to the palace.

Not to the people with the biggest titles.

Not to whoever had the loudest voice.

They went to Huldah.

📖 We find her story in 2 Kings 22 and 2 Chronicles 34.

King Josiah had ordered repairs to the temple when workers discovered the Book of the Law, a scroll containing God’s commands that had been neglected for generations. When the words were read to the king, he tore his clothes in grief. God’s people had wandered far from Him.

Josiah sent his officials with one question:

“What does God say?”

And those officials walked to the home of a woman named Huldah.

Can we just pause there? 👀

Because sometimes we read Bible stories so quickly that we miss the moments that would have made people stop and stare.

The king’s representatives showed up at Huldah’s house.

Not because she had the biggest platform.

Not because she had the most followers.

Not because she had fought for a seat at the table.

They came because she knew God.

The Bible doesn’t explain why they chose her.

It doesn’t defend the decision.

It doesn’t apologize for it.

It simply tells us that the king’s representatives sought out the prophet of God, and that prophet happened to be a woman.

Huldah faithfully delivered God’s message. She didn’t soften it because powerful men stood before her. She didn’t add to it to make herself sound wiser. She simply spoke what the Lord had given her to say.

And her words sparked one of the greatest revivals in Judah’s history.

🌿 Faithfulness Over Fame

Here’s the thing about Huldah.

She wasn’t chasing attention.

She wasn’t building a brand.

She wasn’t trying to become the woman everyone talked about.

She was just faithful.

And isn’t that where so many of us struggle?

Because the world tells us that if nobody sees it, it doesn’t count.

✨ The quiet service.

🙏 The prayers nobody knows about.

💌 The encouragement given when no one is watching.

🌱 The obedience that never gets a thank-you note.

But God sees all of it.

Huldah reminds us that influence isn’t always loud.

Sometimes it’s a quiet voice that has spent years listening to God.

God isn’t looking for the most impressive person in the room.

He’s looking for faithful hearts. 🤍

💛 What This Says About Women

Sometimes conversations about women in the church get stuck in arguments about titles, positions, and who gets to do what.

But Huldah reminds us to zoom out.

God has always been writing women into His story.

🌸 Women announced Jesus’ resurrection.

🌸 Women supported His ministry.

🌸 Women discipled others.

🌸 Women opened their homes to the early church.

🌸 Women prayed, served, taught, encouraged, and faithfully followed God.

The Kingdom of God has never moved forward because of one type of person.

It has moved forward because ordinary people said yes to an extraordinary God.

The Church doesn’t flourish when women compete with men.

It flourishes when men and women together use the gifts God has given them for His glory.

✨ Every person matters.

✨ Every gift matters.

✨ Every act of obedience matters.

🚗 For the Woman Sitting in the Carpool Line

Maybe you’ve wondered if what you do really matters.

Maybe you’ve spent years serving quietly while wondering if anyone notices.

Maybe you’ve been dismissed because of your age, your past, your personality, or your gender.

Remember Huldah. 🌿

She wasn’t standing on a stage.

She wasn’t trying to prove herself.

She was simply faithful where God had placed her.

And when the moment came, God used her voice to change a nation.

The same God who used Huldah sees you.

The Kingdom is often built by people whose names barely fill a paragraph in Scripture.

But heaven knows their names. ✨

🙏 Guided Prayer

Father,

Thank You for seeing value where the world often overlooks it. Thank You for Huldah’s example of humility, courage, and faithfulness.

Help me become someone who listens to You before speaking to others. Guard my heart from seeking recognition instead of obedience. Teach me to use every gift You’ve entrusted to me with humility and love.

Help our churches become places where every believer is encouraged to faithfully serve according to Your calling. Let us build one another up instead of competing for importance.

May my life point people to Jesus more than it points people to me.

Simply because she is a daughter of God who is faithfully walking with Him.

Because the Kingdom needs more Huldahs.
